Let's Keep
It Going!
From the bottom of my heart, thank you, Wasaga Beach!

I am deeply humbled, honoured and grateful for the tremendous support you have shown me throughout this election and for the trust and confidence you have once again placed in me to serve as your Mayor.
What means even more to me is that your support represents not only confidence in my leadership, but also confidence in our vision for the future of Wasaga Beach.
A vision of a stronger, more vibrant, prosperous and sustainable community. A vision built on progress, opportunity and the belief that our very best days are still ahead of us.
Receiving 51.3% of the vote and a clear majority is something I will never take for granted. You have given me a clear mandate to continue bringing that vision to life, building on our accomplishments, and to KEEP IT GOING!
To everyone who took the time to vote, regardless of whom you supported, thank you. Your voice matters, your participation matters, and your commitment to our community is what makes our democracy strong.
I also want to sincerely thank our Town Clerk, election staff and dedicated Town employees who worked tirelessly to ensure a fair and successful election. Your professionalism and commitment are above and beyond and truly appreciated.
To my colleagues on Council, past and present, thank you.
Over the past four years, we have faced challenges, made difficult decisions and accomplished so much together. I am incredibly proud of what we have achieved and grateful for your dedication to our community.
To our returning Councillors Joe Belanger, Ellen Timms, Richard White and Sasha-Rose Dileo, congratulations. I look forward to continuing our work together.
To our newly elected Deputy Mayor-elect Mike Foley and Councillor-elect Kyle Graves, congratulations and welcome. I look forward to working alongside you, respecting different perspectives and continuing to move our community forward.
I also want to take a moment to recognize two extraordinary people who have meant so much to me and to this community: Deputy Mayor Tanya Snell and Councillor Faye Ego.
Tanya and Faye, over the past four years, you have given so much of yourselves to Wasaga Beach. Your dedication, hard work, loyalty and genuine love for this community have made a lasting difference.
And let's be clear, it hasn't always been smooth sailing! We've had our share of knock-'em-down, drag-'em-out debates, spirited disagreements and moments when none of us was prepared to back down.
But that's something I've always admired about both of you. Your stubbornness, determination and willingness to stand up for what you believe in. Because regardless of how heated those discussions became, we always came together with one shared purpose: doing what was best for our community and putting our residents first. Always.
Tanya, you are the epitome of what a Deputy Mayor should be.
Your professionalism, dedication, loyalty and unwavering commitment to our residents have been extraordinary. You have been a trusted partner in leadership, someone who wasn't afraid to challenge me, but someone I always knew I could count on. I know there were colleagues in other municipalities who envied the strong professional relationship we shared. And that relationship worked because, above everything else, we were both committed to doing what was right for the people of Wasaga Beach.
Beyond your role as Deputy Mayor, Tanya, you are a truly wonderful, caring and compassionate person. Our conversations, our debates, our laughter and, most of all, having you by my side... I am so proud to have served alongside you and even prouder to call you my friend.
And Faye, your bright, cheery personality and infectious love of life have brought so much joy to our Council table.
You have a remarkable ability to light up a room, even on the most challenging days. Behind that beautiful smile is a strong, determined and hardworking woman who cares deeply about her community. You've never been afraid to speak your mind or stand your ground, and I've always respected that about you.
Faye, I will miss your smile, that twinkle in your eye, your laughter and the warmth you brought to everything we did together. You have a heart of gold, and Wasaga Beach is a better place because of your service.
To both of you, I am incredibly proud of what we have accomplished together. We have shared successes, faced challenges and made decisions that will positively impact our community for years to come. More importantly, we have built friendships that extend far beyond the Council chamber.
While our time together around the Council table may be ending, our friendships certainly are not. You will always have my deepest respect, heartfelt gratitude and lifelong friendship.
To all the candidates who put their names forward in this election, thank you for your willingness to serve. Running for public office takes courage, commitment and personal sacrifice, and I recognize and appreciate those efforts.
And finally, to the people of Wasaga Beach:
This election was about our future. It was about believing in the progress we have made, having confidence in our vision, and trusting that together we can continue building a community we are all proud to call home.
You have spoken loud and clear, and I have heard you.
I am energized, excited and more determined than ever to continue working hard for you.
There is still much to accomplish, and I promise to continue leading with the same passion, determination and commitment that I have brought to this office. Whether you voted for me or not, I am your Mayor, and I will continue working for every resident of this wonderful community.
The best is yet to come, Wasaga Beach!
Together, we have accomplished so much.
Together, we will accomplish so much more.
LET'S KEEP IT GOING!
With heartfelt gratitude,
Brian Smith
Mayor, Town of Wasaga Beach
